Correct mechanical conveyance of renders / plasters

Often, several mistakes can be easily avoided when cleaning or returning silo mixing pumps. On the one hand, the mistakes can lead to an unsatisfactory render performance pattern up to technical failure or adhesion problems of the render mortar used. Depending on the mistake, on the other hand, work stoppages and technical malfunctions can also happen. Here below, the most important basics of the Weber silo machine technology are presented.

Simple & safe to the goal

  1. Preparation

    1. The correct accessories, such as mortar pressure gauge, mortar hoses with a minimum diameter of 35 mm, air hose, ¾“ water hose with an internal diameter of 19 mm, power cable of 400 volt 32A and a sprayer are required for the use of the silo machine technology.

  2.

    2. Before commissioning, the silo mixing pump must be connected to the local power supply, e.g. to a building distribution box with an appropriate power cable 400 volt 32 A (minimum 5 x 2.5 mm²).

  3.

    3. A ¾" house connection is sufficient for the water supply, provided that it ensures a flow rate of at least 1.500 liters/hour at 2 bar.

  4.

    4. After the water supply has been established, the system must be ventilated.

  5. Start-up

    5. The silo closing valve must be opened for commissioning. After opening, it must be secured against unintentional closing by means of a clip connector.

  6.

    6. Now fill the screw conveyor with the material. This process must be carried out twice. The material in the bucket can be filled into the feed hopper for bags again.

  7.

    7. Select the water pre-setting and fill the pump container with water up to the mark at the same time.

  8.

    8. Switch on the pump motor and the screw conveyor. Make sure that the speed of the pump motor is about 50% to obtain a homogeneous mass and that the stator does not jam.

  9.

    9. After the correct consistency has been set, the mortar hoses can be connected individually and started up.

  10.

    10. Beforehand, the mortar hoses must be pre-treated with chalk slurry water or wallpaper paste in order to avoid stoppages during start-up.

  11.

    11. In some countries the Trade Association prescribes the use of a hose pressure gauge. This is installed between the machine outlet and the mortar hoses.

  12.

    12. After the mortar hoses, the air hose and the spraying head have been coupled, processing can begin.

  13.

    13. When switching on, make sure that both the pump and the screw conveyor are switched on.

  14.

    14. The silo mixing pump mixes the material optimally and makes it very easy to process.
