Installation of force-locking and low thermal bridge add-on parts on ETICS facades

A force-locking and low thermal bridge fastening of add-on parts in external thermal insulation layers of ETICS is only possible to a limited extent without technical pre-planning. Depending on the weight of the element to be fixed, there are different solutions. Heavy add-on parts must be planned for the construction of the facade. Suitable mounting and pressure cylinders then enable a safe and thermally correct installation.

Simple & safe to the goal

  1. 1. Pre-drill (diameter 10 mm) through the ETICS coating. In the case of organic coatings, pre-drilling can be omitted.

  2. 2. Screw in the spiral anchor weber.therm Spiraldübel with TORX T40.

  3. 3. Assembly of the attachment part.

  4. 4. Cut a recess in the EPS insulation material with a milling tool.

  5. 5. Clean the recess from milling dust.

  6. 6. Assembly of the round plate with the adhesive and reinforcing mortar of the selected weber.therm system. The installation point is marked in a drawing or recorded pictorially.

  7. 7. Cut a recess in the EPS insulation material with a milling tool.

  8. 8. Clean the recess from milling dust.

  9. 9. Apply the polymer adhesive onto the lower circular surface in the bead-dot method.

  10. 10. Apply the polymer adhesive onto the shell surface of the recess.

  11. 11. Press in the pressure cylinder flush with the facade, using a smoothing trowel. The mounting point is marked in a drawing or recorded pictorially.

  12. 12. Mount the attachment part.

  13. 13. Mill a recess in the EPS insulation material with a milling tool.

  14. 14. Clean the recess from milling dust.

  15. 15. Apply the polymer adhesive onto the lower circular surface in the bead-dot method.

  16. 16. Apply the polymer adhesive onto the shell surface of the recess.

  17. 17. Push the pressure cylinder flush with the facade, using a smoothing trowel. The mounting point is dimensioned in a drawing or recorded pictorially.

  18. 18. Assembly of add-on part. For heavy loads, anchor in masonry. The cylinder serves only as a pressure bearing surface.
