New logistics partner in southern Germany
As part of the business transfer and the full integration of the Heimsheim and Mainz sites into the maxit Group on 1 October, we have reorganised our logistics network in southern Germany. This includes a new location that will ensure our customers continue to receive a reliable supply of products.
With the Noerpel Group, we have secured a strong logistics partner that provides Weber with modern warehouse facilities, including complete logistics handling – from order picking through to shipment preparation – and ensures reliable deliveries to our customers in south-west Germany.
The Noerpel Group is a provider of integrated logistics services in southern Germany. Now in its fourth and fifth generations of family management, the company has been operating for 145 years and has extensive expertise, particularly in construction chemicals and DIY retail logistics
The Noerpel Group is headquartered in Ulm and employs around 3,700 people across 31 locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
A decision made well in advance
It became clear early on that a reorganisation of our logistics in southern Germany would be required with the business transfer, which is effective from 1 October 2025. Accordingly, Supply Chain Management developed a detailed requirements profile for potential logistics partners in December 2025. The tender process began at the start of January, followed by initial site visits in February. The Noerpel Group met all our expectations and won over our SCM decision-makers by presenting a coherent, convincing and economically sound concept for transport and warehousing.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Claudia Schemel, Director of Supply Chain Management, and Volker Pelzer, Head of Inventory Management and Transformation, for their successful delivery of the project in collaboration with the Purchasing team and Jan de Vries, Head of Logistics.
With Noerpel, we have an experienced logistics partner at our side that fully meets our requirements for warehousing and transport.
Meanwhile, our IT teams are working closely with Noerpel's IT team to set up the necessary interfaces to ensure smooth and reliable data exchange.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin on 1 July 2026.
