How are modern waterproofing compounds applied?

The application possibilities of flexible and rigid mineral waterproofing slurries or polymer-modified bitumen thick coatings (PMBC) are wide-ranging. They are available as one-component or two-component products. Rigid waterproofing slurries are usually single-component materials, while flexible slurries are available in both versions. The performance of "flexible waterproofing slurries" is obvious. Due to their flexibility, they are able to bridge cracks of building parts to a limited extent. This makes a multitude of applications possible, which makes the importance of these materials in interior and exterior areas grow steadily. In the case of bitumen thick-layer coatings, both the one- and two-component types are crack-bridging and are generally used externally for waterproofing earth-contacting structures.

Simple & safe to the goal

  1. 1. The cement-based waterproofing coatings can be used for waterproofing purpose in or under walls. Here as a 2-layer application with a block brush.

  2. 2. Also in the facade socket part, the cement-based waterproofing coatings are used with following render application to waterproof against splash water.

  3. 3. For spray application, suitable machine techniques with air support must be used and cleaning intervals must be observed. This type of application is particularly suitable for projects with time pressure and large surfaces.

  4. 4. When applied by trowel, the waterproofing slurry can be applied in a defined layer thickness, using a triangular notched blade (for ex. Zahnleiste no. 2 with tooth size 5 mm) or the special notched trowel weber.sys Schichtdickenkelle.

  5. 5. When applied by trowel, the bitumen thick-layer coating can be applied in a defined layer thickness, using the special notched trowel weber.sys Schichtdickenkelle which allows the same layer thickness whatever the hand angle is.

  6. 6. When spraying weber.tec Superflex 100 S (2-comp. spray-grade bitumen waterproofing thick coating), use an airless or air-assisted machine technique. The layer thickness must be checked with a layer thickness gauge (weber Schichtdickenmesser). Thanks to this application method, larger building sites can be waterproofed in an economic and time-saving manner.
