Post-applied thermal insulation in the preservation of historical monuments (interior and exterior)
In the preservation of historical monuments, it is advisable to improve the thermal insulation when renovating the facade, without necessarily using insulation panels. In this case, a mineral thermal insulation render can be used. Another possibility is to insulate the interior rooms with a thermal insulation plaster. Up to 5 cm thickness, the insulation works can be carried out without verification of the U-value (heat transfer coefficient). Greater thicknesses should be calculated beforehand with a simulation program like WUFI or similar (for calculating the coupled heat and moisture transport in building components).
