More coverage, less effort: Weber presents the next generation of tile adhesives

Düsseldorf, April 2026 Those who lay tiles on a daily basis know that every movement requires effort and that every little bit of relief makes a measurable difference. This is precisely the area in which Weber's new Comfort Engineered tile adhesives excel. "Comfort Engineered" is not just a marketing slogan, but a technically substantiated system. Independent measurements confirm that reduced bag weight and optimised application properties result in up to 15 per cent* less muscle strain.

The new Comfort‑Engineered tile adhesives

Rather than focusing solely on reducing weight, Weber has developed a well‑thought‑out overall package. The two new tile adhesives make tiling easier, safer and faster. They have been designed specifically for professionals who value high‑quality materials and smooth, reliable workflows.

weber.xerm 854 is a comprehensively optimised product, supplied in a 15 kg bag for easier handling on site. Its modern formulation provides an exceptionally creamy consistency and allows for low-dust mixing and effortless trowelling, while ensuring reliable adhesion, even for heavy tiles. The adhesive has also been proven to reduce the physical effort required for installation by up to 15 per cent*. The result? Less carrying, reduced fatigue and faster progress on site.

Even lighter is weber.xerm 843. This super-light S2 adhesive weighs just 12.5 kg per bag, yet achieves the coverage of a conventional 25 kg product. Combining double coverage with maximum flexibility (S2), it is ideal for accommodating movement over underfloor heating systems or fresh screeds, and is also low-dust and exceptionally “creamy” in application, enabling void-free installation of large-format tiles. In addition, it allows for early use — grouting can be done as early as the next day.

Perfectly matched: the Weber Comfort Notched Trowel

Weber has developed the Comfort Notched Trowel in cooperation with tool manufacturer RUBI to complement the new lightweight adhesives. The notched trowel sits comfortably in the hand, and thanks to its plastic notches it is around 10% lighter than conventional models. It glides quietly through the mortar, providing precise control and ensuring a clean installation pattern — a genuine advantage for ergonomic working.
The tool is available in 6×8 mm, 8×10 mm and 10×12 mm variants, providing targeted support where control and comfort matter most: on site, every day.

Comfort Engineered – developed for the construction site, not the laboratory

What started as a concept in the first Weber countries in 2020 has evolved into a practical approach with a clear focus on making everyday work on site easier. While many adhesives promise high yield, Comfort Engineered goes further by aiming to provide tangible relief in daily working routines.

"With Comfort Engineered, we go beyond pure material savings", says Waldemar Pietrasch, Product Manager for Tiling Systems at Saint-Gobain Weber. "Our adhesives provide noticeable relief when carrying, trowelling, and throughout the entire workflow. With just 12.5 kg, tilers can cover around 8.5 m² using weber.xerm 843 – but, more importantly, weber.xerm 843 makes work easier day after day."
