Lightweight render / plaster as base coat for ceramic tiles on walls
To accommodate ceramic tiles and slabs, the substrates must be prepared in such a way that the bonding can be carried out in a technically and visually flawless manner. Renders/plasters used as levelling layers must meet certain technical requirements so that they are suitable for the following tile fixing work. Weber offers render/plaster systems for new and old buildings. The lightweight underlay renders/plasters weber.dur 130, 132 and 136 are ideally suited for the fixing of ceramic tiles and slabs.
Simple & safe to the goal

Application
1. Non-absorbent, dense and smooth substrates like concrete and clinker require a pre-treatment with the mineral bondcoat weber.dur 101 which is combed horizontally with a notched trowel.
-
2. Apply beads of weber.mix 125 (profile bonding and installation mortar), install profiles without delay and position plumb. As a rule, the flush-mounted and corner profiles in damp rooms must be made of stainless steel.
-
3. Apply the lightweight underlay renders weber.dur 130, 132 or 136 onto the substrate in the appropriate thickness (10 - 20 mm). In the case of highly absorbent and/or differently absorbent substrates, two coats must be applied "wet-in-wet". The application thickness of the first coat should be approx. 2/3 of the total render thickness.
-
5. After the render has dried (approx. 1 day/1 mm thickness), sweep the render surface vigorously with a broom or a hand brush. Then apply the primer weber.prim 801 full-surface. Protect areas exposed to moisture with a suitable waterproofing compound.
