Easy and safe renovation of damp masonries

Uprising damp due to missing or defective waterproofing of the basement walls is the reason why damages to brickwork and renders/plasters occur. The Weber system "Easy and safe renovation of damp masonries" allows a quick, reliable and simple application for renovation.

Simple & safe to the goal

  1. 1. Remove old and damp renders/plasters approx. 80 cm above the damaged area.

  2. 2. Chisel a recess of 4 x 4 cm in the internal angle between the concrete slab and basement wall.

  3. 3. Scrape out the joint mortar network at a depth of approx. 2 cm.

  4. 4. Drill boreholes into one horizontal masonry joint row. Diameter: 16 mm, length of each borehole: 5 cm shorter than masonry thickness; interval: 8 - 12 cm. When the maximal water level is high and external waterproofing does not exist, drill the holes in the highest horizontal masonry joint row under the basement ceiling.

  5. 5. Blow the dust out of the holes with air.

  6. 6. Use the manual gun no. 3 and its accessories (injection pipes, adapter, etc.) for injecting the cream weber.tec 946 without pressure into the boreholes.
Alternative: use Gloria equipment for spray application out of the plastic bucket.

  7. 7. Fill the cream weber.tec 946 in the whole length of the holes. Start the injection at the hole end and step back.

  8. 8. Apply a bonding layer with the watertight mortar weber.tec 933 (brush consistency) on the groove area (angle concrete slab/basement wall); afterwards fill the recess with the mortar (trowel consistency) with a flat trowel on the fresh bondcoat.

  9. 9. Close the clean joint network of masonry with weber.tec 933 as patching mortar in max. 10 mm thickness, using a flat trowel.

  10. 10. Comb the fresh mortar layer horizontally, using for ex. a tiler-notched trowel 6 - 8 mm.

  11. 11. Apply weber.tec 933 as groove mortar (trowel consistency) with the preformed rounded trowel weber.sys Hohlkehlenschlittten along the pre-said angle.

  12. 12. After drying the bondcoat weber.tec 933 apply the waterproof render weber.tec 934 in approx. 20 mm thickness as thrown-on with a hawk trowel. Rule level with aluminium beam or flat trowel. Depending on the type of top render/plaster, comb horizontally with a notched trowel or smooth with a damp brush or sponge float.

  13. 13. Apply the ready-to-use textured lime render/plaster, weber.cal 286 with a plastic trowel on top of the smoothed waterproof render. Smooth with a sponge float.

  14. 14. Alternative: apply the damp-proof render/plaster weber.san 954 in thick layer damp-proof render/plaster (maximum 4 cm). In this case, the waterproof render weber.tec 934 must be combed horizontally with a notched trowel.
