Socket waterproofing in case of timber frame constructions

The correct waterproofing of the facade socket part, which is subject to splash water load, is crucial for the longevity of modern building systems with timber frame construction.

Here too, we recommend the 2-comp. reactive and quick-setting waterproofing coating weber.tec Superflex D 24 in order to achieve a durable humidity protection.

Simple & safe to the goal

  1. 1. After substrate preparation, apply the all-purpose primer weber.prim 900 on the forepart of the concrete slab and on the slab itself in the area of the upstanding wall components. Afterwards a scratch layer of weber.tec Superflex D 24 is applied. After its drying, the waterproofing under the walls is carried out in 2 layers.

  2. 2. Application of scratch layer full-surface weber.tec Superflex D 24 on the timber panelling located on the socket part.

  3. 3. Application of the first waterproofing layer weber.tec Superflex D 24.

  4. 4. Check of the wet layer thickness with the layer thickness gauge (weber.sys Schichtdickenmesser).

  5. 5. Embed the watertight foil waterproofing foil weber.sys 982 "wet-in-wet" in the reactive waterproofing layer. Lay the foil with 10 cm overlapping; it is not to be allowed to end at corners, edges and grooves (angles).

  6. 6. Carefully cover the foil with weber.tec Superflex D 24 over its entire surface.

  7. Waterproofing of flush-floor windows

    7. Fixing and bonding of the watertight self-bonding foil weber.sys 982 SK. The foil is folded up. Then the scratch coat is applied underneath, followed by the first layer of waterproofing (both with weber.tec Superflex D 24).

  8. 8. Then, the foil weber.sys 982 SK is covered full-surface with the first layer of weber.tec Superflex D 24.

  9. 9. Apply the second layer weber.tec Superflex D 24 as soon as the first cannot be damaged.

  10. 10. Ready waterproofing of flush-floor window.
