Sustainable execution of a socket with render

Special attention must be paid to the waterproofing of the masonry and the execution of the multi-coat render system, in order to be able to execute socket parts of facades in a sustainable manner. In addition to the correct layer build-up, it is necessary to choose suitable materials. Comply with the national guidelines and/or standards.

Simple & safe to the goal

  1. 1. Drawing of socket with post-applied socket render.

  2. 2. Apply the 2-comp. reactive waterproofing slurry weber.2-comp. reactive and quick-setting waterproofing coating weber.tec Superflex D 24 or the 2-comp. reactive waterproofing slurry weber.tec Superflex D 2 in 2 layers with a notched trowel and rule level with a flat trowel.

  3. 3. Waterproof the door connection with weber.tec Superflex D 24 / D 2. The material is applied overlapping on the lower door beam and the wall soffits. For reinforcement, insert the watertight foil weber.sys 982 full-surface in the first layer.

  4. 4. Finally apply the second waterproofing layer of weber.tec Superflex D 24 / D 2.

  5. 5. Apply the reinforcing mortar weber.therm 300 combed horizontally on the last waterproofing layer.

  6. 6. After sufficient waiting time apply the lightweight underlay render for facade socket areas weber.dur 121 / 121 SLK in a thickness of 15-20 mm. The render surface can be smoothed with a sponge or rubbed with a wooden float.

Alternative: instead of smoothing or floating works the underlay  different overlay renders can be applied with a decorative finish coating as described hereunder.

  7. 6.1. Apply the high-bonding strength lime-cement render weber.star 295 and smooth with a sponge float or a wooden float.

  8. 6.2. Or apply the mineral floated top render weber.star 224 AquaBalance and work to the desired texture, using a plastic (PVC) trowel or a polystyrene (EPS) float.

  9. 6.3. Alternative: use the universal primer weber.prim 403 on the substrate and afterwards the coloured stone render weber.pas 434.

  10. 7. Regardless of the selected method, the socket system is protected against rising damp up to 5 cm above ground level with the 1-comp. flexible cement-based waterproofing slurry weber.dur 126 or the 2-comp. reactive waterproofing slurry weber.tec Superflex D 2. Apply at least 2 layers of max. 1.5 mm each, using a ceiling brush. Delay between each layer: 1 day. Maximum layer thickness 3.0 mm.

  11. 8. After material choice for surface finish and moisture protection on the socket part use the silicate egalizing paint weber.ton 414 AquaBalance.
