… because facade design needs liberty.

weber.therm style | ETICS with glass and natural stone
ETICS surfaces restaged
The impression of a building is decisively shaped by the facade material; by the structure, feel, transparency and colour of its surface.
Saint-Gobain Weber is paving the way for new freedom on the facade with an innovative system. The weber.therm style external thermal insulation composite system make it possible to securely bond a wide variety of materials, such as glass, basalt, corten steel or exposed concrete elements to a continuous insulation layer. This opens up almost unlimited design possibilities. This approach offers the advantages of a bonded system over classic ventilated facades (curtain walls). With a curtain construction, thermal bridges can never be completely avoided. weber.therm style, on the other hand, combines the advantages of a continuously insulated building envelope with new freedom in the choice of materials.
Your advantages with weber.therm style
- unlimited possibilities for individual design
- energy-efficient construction and renovation with a variety of surfaces
- ideal for partial surfaces and material changes
- slim structure
The material for new ideas
Due to the bonding, no visible fasteners like screws or frames are necessary. The system invites you to play with large surfaces, because the facade designed with weber.therm style has few joints. But weber.therm style also sets new standards as a strong accent and in combination with rendered surfaces. The materials can be taken up beyond the facade in the interior of a building, so that the exterior and interior spaces merge.
In combination with large-format glass elements, weber.therm style has already been successfully implemented in numerous buildings. Further concept studies with different surfaces are in advanced test phases. Smooth, coloured glass surfaces in which the sky is reflected; rough, weathered Corten steel, puristic concrete or primitive basalt that involuntarily invites you to run your hand over the surface - there are no limits to your imagination. Turn the facade into an energetically optimized experimental field and design space with weber.therm style.
weber.therm style enables a rich building culture in which an energy-related facade renovation always represents an invitation to creative design at the same time.
The application of panel-shaped materials on a thermal insulation composite system raises various challenges in terms of building physics. For ex., the surface materials sometimes heat up more than the insulating material and the masonry underneath when exposed to direct sunlight. Moisture management within the construction also requires special attention. Although moisture does not penetrate through the mainly diffusion-tight surfaces, a solution also had to be found for the moisture contained in the construction. In many tests, the optimal composition was developed, which allows a balanced state to emerge within the construction.
weber.therm style meets these requirements. With the tried-and-tested system, even large-format glass panels can be bonded to a thermal insulation composite system in a safe and lasting way. The system's own adhesive, which is applied to the back of the elements, is of decisive importance here. It acts as a buffer for the tension caused by the different flexibility of the system components and as a bonding agent between the surface material and the ETICS.
Efficient, slim, robust - New system with proven technology
External thermal insulation composite systems are the first choice for buildings that aim for a defined low energy level. In addition, they are easier to work with, as there is no need for elaborated substructures. Due to their mineral structure, the systems can be recycled and thus contribute to sustainable building.
The advantages of weber.therm style come into their own especially when partial areas are to be designed with changing surfaces. Material changes between render and any other surfaces can be easily implemented on the uninterrupted insulation layer. The weber.therm style system as a whole is also considerably slimmer than a curtain wall. It is therefore also suitable for properties with narrow building limits. Saint-Gobain Weber has decades of comprehensive expertise in composite thermal insulation systems and tiling systems.
The building authority approval for weber.therm style has been applied for.
