Waterproofing of structural joints below ground level
It's all in the details. Great care is a "must" for structural wall joints separating buildings and for dilatation joints in case of external basement waterproofing. They are a challenge for the planner and the contractor. Weber offers tailor-made solutions with its sealing tape systems for all cases of water load.
Simple & safe to the goal
-
1. The joint sealing tape with end T-piece weber.tec Superflex B 240 E is used for the waterproofing of structural separation walls between buildings, for ex. in semi-detached houses with an end-to-end floor slab. The tape is fleece-covered on both sides and at both ends. When cutting the tape in the middle, two 3-m long tapes are obtained with one end piece each. The fleece-reinforced sides are glued with polymer-modified bitumen thick coatings (PMBC) or epoxy resin mortars on both sides.
-
5. Strip joints, mitres and connections are obtained by thermal welding of the tapes to each other. Prior to heating, clean the tapes with the thinner weber.sys 982. The middle part (PVC) of the tapes is welded together with an air-heating blower (approx. +350 °C up to +450 °C in accordance with the nozzle width and the work speed). The welding results in a homogeneous bonding.
-
6. The joint sealing tape weber.tec Superflex B 400 (without end T-piece) is used for wider joints. It is convenient for being bonded into hot bitumen or in connection with bitumen felts, for ex. on earth-contacting concrete ceiling slabs (for ex. above underground parking decks). Here the bonding is done with the 2-comp. epoxy resin adhesive weber.xerm 848. Insert the tape into the fresh material.
-
7. Lay the sealing tape with the narrow fleece side facing the concrete wall. Whenever an epoxy resin adhesive is used, first apply the 2-comp epoxy resin primer weber.prim 807 on the fleece sides. The central part of the tape remains without adhesive. For expected large expansion movements, lay the tapes in an omega loop.
-
8. Cover the top side of the fleece with the same material for bonding. In the case of waterproofing works requiring a horizontal and vertical sealing of joints, it is advisable to apply the waterproofing material continuously from the horizontal concrete floor slab up to the wall surface in order to ensure continuous connections.
