Execution of a waterproofing in thermal pools
Thermal water, i.e water that comes from the earth's interior, is often used for therapeutic purposes. These waters contain minerals and other trace elements in high quantities. However, that which is effective against rheumatism, arthrosis and many other diseases can sometimes attack mineral joints. But soft waters can partly cause dissolution of mineral grouting mortars in the joints due to ion exchange. Whenever damage to the tile covering or the grouting or bonding is to be feared, recourse should be had to a tile fixing system based on epoxy resins. Epoxy resins are resistant to both acidic and alkaline media. They can be used in thermal, spa and therapy pools. For ex. the 2-comp. EP adhesive and grout weber.xerm 848 has been tested according to the KSW recommendation of the German Federal Environment Agency (relating to use of polymers in swimming pool water). At the same time, this system can also be used in septic tanks or on surfaces subject to high mechanical stress.
