Creation of a bonded waterproofing with membranes (weber.tec 825)

Damp-proofing and waterproofing membrane for wet-duty rooms for bonded waterproofing under tiles on walls and floors. For quick waterproofing of moisture-sensitive substrates in interior areas, composite (bonded) waterproofing as sheeting has become established, among other things. The waterproofing foil and vapour barrier can be used in showers and wet-duty rooms with normal household use as well as in shower facilities and workshops, etc. Furthermore, scheduled work in steam baths or saunas under ceramic coverings can be carried out reliably and safely. Due to the pre-defined foil thickness of 0.5 mm, no further waterproofing layer is required. The desired covering can be bonded directly onto the waterproofing foil and water vapour barrier weber.tec 825.

Simple & safe to the goal

  1. Substrate preparation

    1. Use the primer weber.prim 801 on absorbent substrates.

  2. Waterproofing

    1. After full drying of the primer, install the perforated joint sealing tape weber.tec 828 DB G in all connection areas (angles wall/wall or wall/floor). For this purpose, glue the tape with the temperature-independent setting flexible adhesive weber.xerm 859 F onto the substrate and cover it with the same material, using a spatula or a flat trowel.

  3. 2. Comb weber.xerm 859 F with a 4 mm-notched trowel on the wall area to be waterproofed.

  4. 3. The previously cut sheets of weber.tec 825 are first laid into the fresh adhesive bed mortar on the walls. Press them down with a flat trowel and brush them off.

  5. 4. Then weber.xerm 859 F is combed with a 4 mm-notched trowel also on the floor area to be waterproofed.

  6. 5. The previously cut sheets of the foil weber.tec 825 are first laid into the fresh adhesive bed mortar on the floor, in the same way, as on walls. Press them down with a flat trowel and brush them off.

  7. 6. The sheets of weber.tec 825 are laid with butt joints against each other. The joint areas are covered and worked with the perforated joint sealing tape weber.tec 828 DB G.

  8. Tile fixing

    1. Apply a contact coat of weber.xerm 859 F on the substrate with the smoothing trowel and comb down a uniform adhesive bed with the notched trowel at an angle of 45° - 60°.

  9. 2. Before a skin starts to form (check the tackiness of combed-down tile adhesive with the finger) slide the tiles into the fresh mortar bed with a slight twisting motion and press down.

  10. 3. After completion of tile fixing on walls, the floor tiles are also fixed with weber.xerm 859 F or the 2-comp. tile adhesive weber.xerm 844. As a rule, use a sufficiently large notch size to ensure the best contact between mortar bed or tiles.

  11. Grouting

    1. After hardening the tile adhesive grout, the joints either with the premium grout weber.fug 875 BlueComfort or the high strength grout weber.fug 873, depending upon the use.

  12. 2. When grouting the floor tiles, the choice of grout should also be matched to the respective use.

  13. 3. Connection and movement joints must be closed with the elastic silicone joint sealant weber.fug 880 or weber.fug 881. In the case of natural stones, use the specific sealant weber.fug 883. For better bonding, use the primer weber.fug 884 (absorbent joint sides) or weber.fug 885 (non-absorbent joint sides).
